I’m not Very Familiar with VDM Activism Says Rapper Falz – Giwu Insider
The rapper noted that his first exposure to VeryDarkman’s cause occurred during his fight against unregistered skincare vendors in Nigeria, which helped him gain prominence.
Nigerian rapper Falz has addressed comments made by social media personality VeryDarkman, emphasizing that he was not well-acquainted with his work and was mostly unaware of it before the defamatory remarks were made against him.
In an appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast, Falz said, “I’ll be honest—I don’t know much about his activism. Before the first video where he mentioned me and my dad, I hadn’t really seen much of him.”
He added that the only time he recognized VeryDarkman’s efforts was in connection with his campaign against unregistered skincare vendors in Nigeria, which helped him gain public attention.
“What I recall seeing was from some time ago, about people selling bleaching products without NAFDAC numbers. I thought, ‘This person seems to be doing something worthwhile; this is a good cause.’ But to be honest, I haven’t seen much of his work beyond that.”
This conversation takes place against the backdrop of an ongoing legal case involving Falz, his father Femi Falana, and VeryDarkman, which originated from the latter’s defamatory remarks.
Commenting on VDM’s statements, Falz said, “This person chose one day to turn on his ring light, sit down, and make direct accusations, insinuations, and innuendos, alleging that my dad and I colluded with certain individuals to manipulate justice and bribe the EFCC.”
“He also claimed that I did this because I had a homosexual relationship with Bobrisky, and went on to say that my activism is a facade. How would anyone feel hearing such things? These are terrible accusations to make without any evidence. How can someone just come out and allege all of this?” he stated.
